Meaghan’s life has been shaped by the strength and inspiration of the wonderful women in her life—her nanna, mum, and three daughters.
As she reflects on the significance of International Women’s Day, the disability support worker knows first-hand the impact the right person can have on someone’s life.
Over the past four years, Meaghan has empowered the people who Minda supports to achieve their health and wellbeing goals.
"My nanna brought up seven kids on a single wage. She went without, but did everything she could to give her children the best opportunities in life."
"One of the best things about my job is having wonderful interactions with the people Minda supports, and seeing them thrive in various environments," Meaghan said.
"Whether it’s physically or socially, I’ve been fortunate to watch so many people grow over the years. I get to witness these incredible personal achievements every day."
Outside of her rewarding career, Meaghan is a mother of three daughters. International Women’s Day provides an opportunity to reflect on the inspirational women in her life.
"My nanna brought up seven kids on a single wage. She went without, but did everything she could to give her children the best opportunities in life," Meaghan said.
"That same mentality has been passed down to my mum and to me."
Importantly, these strong women have instilled in Meaghan values that she has carried into her life—strength, resilience, and pride.
"As a mother of three daughters in 2025, it’s not always easy, but seeing how they’re growing into strong women themselves is such a source of inspiration," she said.
Meaghan’s desire to be a role model for her daughters is a driving force behind her dedication, both at work and at home.
"I want to be a great role model for my daughters," she said. "I am lucky to have had countless strong women in my life that continue to inspire me every day."
For Meaghan, International Women’s Day honours the women whose strength and influence will inspire current and future generations.
