Volunteering at Minda
Join the Minda Community. Become a volunteer!
Here at Minda, we are all about community, the people we support, our staff, volunteers, students, and our neighbours.
Volunteering at Minda is primarily about people enriching and empowering the lives of people with disability, however as a volunteer you’ll have the opportunity to develop and expand your skill base, meet new people, explore career development, and discover training opportunities.
We are so grateful for the support of volunteers. We couldn’t achieve what we do without you!

Community Christmas Carols and Markets
Community Christmas Carols and Markets is back in 2023! After three years, we are bringing back the fun with market stalls, food trucks, amusements and activities, petting zoo, santa's cave and incredible live entertainment and performances on the BankSA stage throughout the day. All funds raised helps us to do more for the people we support.
YOUR ROLE: Help with set up and pack down or man one of our games/amusements like Pluck a Duck or Lucky Dip, help with car parking, assist at the petting zoo, get involved with face painting, work the $2 shop, help at Santa’s Cave. Or if you’re the creative type, decorate the main stage and Santa’s cave. We will be setting up from 9am on the Saturday and packing up from 7pm-9pm.
Christmas Gift Wrapping
Minda is returning to Adelaide Arcade for another wonderful year, providing gift wrapping services from 1-24 December 2023 as part of one of Minda’s fundraisings initiatives. All funds raised helps us to do more for the people we support.
YOUR ROLE: We need to fill over 100 x 3 hours shifts from the 1 - 24 December 2023 so we need all the help we can get!
Do you love the spotlight, have great acoustic entertainment skills, and are as free as a bird on Fridays from 4pm-6pm? If yes, then we want YOU! INC Café, a fully inclusive café located on Minda’s North Brighton site, is looking for a volunteer guitarist to celebrate the end of the working week at our weekly Happy Hour event. INC offers an inclusive and family friendly space with food and drink specials available each Friday night and is just minutes from the beach. It’s the perfect spot for a wind down after a long week paired with good food, good drinks, and good music.
YOUR ROLE: Perform a few sets of acoustic music on Friday afternoons between 4pm and 6pm with the option for additional opportunities!
Community Connector at INC Cafe
Help Minda build a more connected neighbourhood by sharing your skills, interest and passion with others and run weekly, fortnightly, or monthly inclusive activities. If you enjoy socialising, have a passion for community engagement, are committed to a regular pattern of volunteering and have good communication skills, we'd love to hear from you! From mums and bubs groups to a book club or needle work sessions - the sky is the limit!
YOUR ROLE: Facilitate inclusive activities or workshops from INC Cafe for our clients and the community to get involved in.
Get involved by providing direct support. This may be supporting a person with intellectual disability, administration support, helping in the garden or on a special project.
Lend a hand with fundraising by Christmas Gift Wrapping in Adelaide Arcade or helping out at our events.
The benefit to our people and to the students who volunteer is an experience that both parties find extremely rewarding.
Our volunteer specialist will work with your organisation to identify a project that suits your team and of course, is of great value to the people we support.
