Only a few months ago, Warwick and Richard were complete strangers. Fast forward to present day, and both gentlemen have formed an enviable and meaningful friendship.

The friendship came to fruition after Richard moved from his previous accommodation to join Warwick at his Bright Way apartment. The pair have been inseparable ever since.

In Australia, you can’t receive greater praise than being called a “great bloke”. Those are the exact words that Warwick uses to describe Richard.

“Richard is a great bloke – we have plenty of similar interests. I wouldn’t want to live with anyone else,” Warwick said.

Since walking through the front door of his new apartment for the first time, Richard has created plenty of great memories with his new roommate, and believes the best is yet to come.

“We both get along really well. I like living with Warwick because we have plenty of fun,” Richard said.

Cluster Manager Jobin Joseph said Warwick and Richard’s flourishing friendship has brought a renewed sense of joy and adventure into their lives.

The increased sense of adventure has resulted in both gentlemen working with their house staff to plan a holiday together - Warwick and Richard both share this NDIS goal.

Another goal they both share is the desire to experience social activities in the community, with the support of their staff. Warwick is currently excited about attending an upcoming bagpipe event in the Barossa, while Richard has been busy exploring his new surroundings.

“Richard is making the most of his new surroundings. He is also reconnecting with old friends and sharing his excitement about his wonderful apartment and bedroom,” Jobin said.

Jobin said both families have been incredibly happy with the move so far and look forward to seeing what the future holds for Warwick and Richard.

“The move has created an overwhelming sense of happiness for Warwick and Richard’s families, who feel their loved ones are thriving in their new living arrangement,” Jobin said.

Despite it only being in its early stages, Warwick and Richard’s friendship has been a beacon of positivity, which has rubbed off on anyone fortunate enough to know the gentlemen.

Strong and meaningful friendships are hard to find, but once they are found, they can improve someone’s life immensely. For Warwick and Richard, the move has been a blessing.
