David Holst is a retired professional Executive, Director and Chief Operating Officer of a large ASX company for over 30 years. Holst is a passionate member of the MINDA Consultative Committee and family member of the MINDA Association with a daughter Kim, who has accessed a variety of services and care over the past 30 years from MINDA.
Over a decade ago David extensively researched world best practice in independent living for people with intellectual disability and advocated for such change with Government. His research was put into practice through the creation of Kardinya, a shared housing arrangement and best practice program he led for his daughter with the support of the SA Government and MINDA. Based on relationship-based service provision it has proven to be a highly successful model for clients, families and staff and won a number of awards.
From his lived experience, David believes he can positively contribute and provide positive influence and guidance finetuning the future models of care and services currently being designed and piloted.
