Rapidswim Hydrotherapy
Rapidswim Hydrotherapy provides water based therapy for people of all ages living with a disability to gain water confidence in a supportive environment and to support them toward achieving their goals. Designed to improve areas that impact the everyday functioning, Rapidswim Hydrotherapy sessions are delivered with Minda physiotherapists provide individualised support throughout the sessions.
Our weekly 1:1 sessions run for 45min and in conjunction with school terms.
What can Rapidswim Hydrotherapy assist with?
Sessions are focused around increasing skills in the following areas:
- Gross Motor Skills – strength, balance and coordination to facilitate the development of walking, running, climbing and participation in meaningful sporting activities.
- Fine Motor and Hand Skills – developing pincer grip, hand and finger strength and in hand manipulation to facilitate the development of hand skills, such as for using cutlery and writing.
- Communication Skills – expressive language and following instructions to enable the person to meaningfully communicate with others.
- Social Skills – team work, taking turns and sharing with others to enable better participation and inclusion with peers.
- Water Safety & Water Awareness – to better enable the person to go on to learn to swim and be safe in aquatic environments.
Hydrotherapy sessions can be funded from your Improved Daily Living budget in your NDIS plan. Your physiotherapist may also undertake an End of plan report & recommendations.

Rapidswim: Learn to Swim
The Rapidswim: Learn to Swim program provides the opportunity for children and adults living with disability to increase water confidence, water safety and awareness.
We support you to develop and refine the swimming skills needed to transition into community based swimming options, such as mainstream group lessons and the ability to be safe and have fun in aquatic environments.
Learn To Swim Program Details
The 1:1 supports provided as part of the Learn to Swim program can be funding from your Social, Economic and Community Participation budget or your Increased Social and Community Participation budget in your NDIS Plan.
There is a swimming lesson fee of $24 per session. This is an out of pocket cost that is not funded by your NDIS plan and will be required to be paid by you directly.
Swim Instructors may undertake the following in addition to any direct support time:
