In 2022, fifty school students living with a disability took part in a pilot Disability Pathway and Transition program, organised by the Department for Education. As part of the program, the SA Learning Centre (SALC) team coordinated several come-and-try days and tours for students to visit our SA Group Entreprises sites at Ottoway, Brighton, Reynella and Lonsdale. The students were immersed in the different opportunities at each of the sites and given a chance to engage in multiple hands-on activities.

As a result, three of these students are now commencing supported employment with Minda, with one enrolling in SALC’s Cert III Individual Support course. This is a fantastic outcome and the success of the pilot program will see it continue in 2023.

In recognition of their efforts the SALC team and students were invited to the Department for Education's end of year event where Minda was awarded a Certificate of Appreciation.
