Minda Housing has built two new homes to meet the top-level High Physical Support criteria for Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA) under the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS).

The two new homes at Somerton Park and Warradale are a first for Minda in SDA accommodation, and meet a strong demand from NDIS participants requiring integrated housing and supports.

Executive Manager Infrastructure Michelle Gheorghiu says residents will move into the new Somerton Park property next week.

“The Somerton Park property includes air conditioning customised to each resident’s personal areas, ensuites for each of the five bedrooms, and accessible bathrooms,” Michelle says.

“There is also a wellbeing room in the centre of the home, which residents will be able to use for at home medical or allied health appointments, as well as their own activities.”

The Warradale home is expected to be completed later this month.
