South Australia’s largest disability provider Minda Inc has announced Ashley Thompson as its new Executive Director Infrastructure and Services.

Mr Thompson is a highly skilled property and legal professional with extensive experience in retail leasing, project management, retail property development and asset management.

In his new role, Mr Thompson will be responsible for strategic leadership and management of the property portfolio and all infrastructure across the Minda Group as well as its associated business including Minda Cleaning, Minda Catering, Inclusive Café, Brighton Dunes and Envirocare.

Mr Thompson joins Minda after seven years with the Peregrine Corporation where he held several roles including General Manager, Head of Leasing and Property Manager.

During his time at Peregrine, Mr Thompson contributed to the growth of the property team as a result of property acquisitions, development and retail store growth. Under this leadership, the business underwent significant transformation, with streamlined growth and more efficient decision-making.

Prior to Peregrine, Mr Thompson was a property and legal manager at Pepkor South East Asia Pty Ltd, which saw the merger of retail giant Harris Scarfe Australia with PepkorSEA.

Mr Thompson also has developed strong community links as President of the North East Hockey Club since 2019 and was also Board of Directors of HockeySA from 2015-2017.

Minda Chief Executive Dr David Panter said Mr Thompson stood out among a strong field of applicants for the position.

“I am delighted to have Mr Thompson join Minda. We are thrilled to welcome him as he brings significant skills and experience and will add further strength to the existing leadership team,” Dr Panter said.

“He will bring an analytical and insightful approach to our property and infrastructure needs and will be an ideal fit for Minda.”

Mr Thompson said he was proud to be joining Minda and was looking forward to having a leadership role across a broad area of the organisation: “I am delighted to be joining Minda and look forward to showcasing my ability to build on the organisation’s existing capabilities in service delivery and empowering our clients.”
