A familiar face at Minda Brighton, most know Jade Puletama’s welcoming demeanour from picking up a coffee or meal, at INC Café.
Jade is the Supervisor at INC and has worked there for almost three years. Jade’s responsibility at the café ranges from looking after functions, managing and training the seven supported employees working at the café, and all of the many other hospitality tasks, that come up in any given day.
Prior to coming to Minda, Jade worked in the hospitality industry for a number of years. Longing for change, Jade landed her job at Minda with the notion of doing something different.
“I felt I was at the peak of my learning and this was an opportunity to step outside of my comfort zone.”
The role at Minda was certainly unlike her other positions. Having never worked in the disability sector, it combined her passion for the hospitality industry, and making a difference in the community.
Jade says she loves working for Minda: “I love working with the clients, training them to do their best and making their lives more fulfilled."
Continually evolving to keep clients at the centre, Jade also adds that INC is aiming to have a greater union between Minda and SAGE businesses. This includes, Envirocare providing plants to the cafe, TRAK Furniture creating timber pieces, Blend Creative working on design projects and Minda’s Catering Service supplying food to the café.
Thanks for all your great work Jade and the team and for the coffee that keeps us going!
