The Client Support Unit (CSU) is dedicated to guiding individuals through the complexities of the NDIS, ensuring they receive tailored support and services to meet their unique needs.
As CSU manager, Carlie finds the greatest fulfilment in her work by directly improving the lives of others, knowing her efforts help individuals and families thrive in their new environments.
“There’s nothing better than having an individual or their family come to you and say thank you, especially when they’re thriving in their new environment or activity,” she said.
"It’s always rewarding to witness an individual take a significant step towards achieving their goals, such as transitioning from home to SIL accommodation."
“I have many amazing women in my family that I look up to every single day. I’m always grateful for the lessons they’ve shared with me over the years.”
Carlie’s role involves not only managing inquiries but also supporting her team to ensure people receive the best possible services and support.
Working closely with people every day, Carlie understands the significance of International Women’s Day and what it represents. She often celebrates the progress women have achieved, particularly in the workforce, over the years.
“Women have fought incredibly hard to be part of the workforce and to be acknowledged both intellectually and financially for the work they do,” Carlie said.
She also acknowledged the way women balance professional responsibilities with family life.
“It’s very easy to forget that women manage all these professional commitments alongside the full-time job of raising a family and running a household. I am in awe of these people,” she said.
Carlie consistently draws inspiration from the strong women in her family, who have shaped her journey into adulthood.
“I have many amazing women in my family that I look up to every single day. I’m always grateful for the lessons they’ve shared with me over the years,” she said.
She often reflects on the values and lessons that continue to guide her in both her personal and professional life.
At Minda, Carlie is also surrounded by many incredible women who motivate each other to achieve positive outcomes for the people the organisation supports.
Her advice to women looking to follow their dreams and enter the workforce is simple yet powerful: “Be willing to learn and put your best foot forward.”
Carlie’s work shows the importance of fostering great environments where everyone can grow, succeed, and thrive.
