Minda staff, family and volunteers congregated to revel in the activities and fun-filled day, made a success thanks to Corporate Volunteers Schneider Electric who helped during set up. Melodies from the 10/27th Battalion Royal South Australian Regiment Band filled the air and inspired many to dance and bop along, while an abundance of sausages sizzled away and were served up by Minda volunteers and the Somerton Rotary Club.
Attendees were treated to tea-cup rides, a safari train, petting zoo, Chevrolet rides, and a visit from Santa! The jolly old man arrived in Somerton Surf Life Saving Club’s Rescue Vehicle, and with two elves hot on his heels, he handed out gifts to all and spread festive cheer far and wide.
A highlight of the day was the presentation of the Minda Reward & Recognition Values Awards, acknowledging staff, supported employees and volunteers who embody the Minda values of Heart, Opportunity, Respect, Community and Empathy in all their endeavours. Congratulations to all of the winners.

Maria Edwards is a self-advocate and respected representative of Minda's Client Consultative Committee, where she contributes on issues that impact clients and peers. Her advocacy efforts always have the care and support of clients in mind. Maria is actively involved with the Karrarendi group and activities surrounding National Reconciliation Week and NAIDOC Week.
