Cooking & Healthy Life

Fee For Service Funded

Whether it’s learning the difference between healthy and ‘sometimes’ foods, or discovering the importance of regular exercise, cooking/healthy lifestyle training offers support tailored to the individual.

Food training includes shopping for food and understanding food labels, particularly how much sugar and salt can be found in different products. It also means:

  • Identifying healthy food you can eat every day
  • Detecting ‘sometimes’ food and drinks, which should only be consumed occasionally
  • Discovering healthy alternatives

Training can include a trip to the local supermarket and also support cooking healthy and simple meals, with the compilation of a book of recipes.

The importance of drinking water, including how much you should have in a day and the need for regular exercise is also explored, including what types of exercise can help you, and where you can get involved in the community.
