Skills & Support Services
Minda can help you make the transition to supported or open employment by helping you gain the skills needed to prepare for work.
We can also help you discover the different types of work available, gain an understanding of the duties you may be asked to carry out, what you can expect and how you should conduct yourself in the work place.
- Building skills for work
- Looking for a job
- Understanding your workplace
- Occupational Health & Safety and being safe at work
- Problem solving at work
- Communicating at work
This can include expanding on the skills you have built at school, by setting achievable and individualised goals in collaboration with your parents and/or carers.
Work experience may be arranged in one of Minda’s Commercial Enterprises and also via MJP Employment Services.
Participants are also offered support from Minda’s Health & Skills team and also via programs offered through My Day.
If you decide you don’t want to transition to supported employment, we can still help you build skills in an inclusive environment, where you can also develop lasting friendships.
