Meet our Support Coordination Team

Minda’s Support Coordination Team will assist eligible NDIS participants to build the skills needed to understand, implement and use their plan so they can exercise choice and control. Support coordinators will work with participants (and/or their nominees) to ensure a mix of mainstream and informal supports are accessed to increase their capacity to maintain relationships, manage services and live more independently.

Heading up the team is Jodie McCarthy, who says the team will assist clients to successfully navigate the NDIS, prepare for plan reviews, and ensure they are getting maximum benefit from their funded supports.

“We are excited to have this dedicated team with the experience and capacity to meet people’s needs,” Jodie says.

Support coordinators are Glynis McDuie, Sue Peters, Sally Treloar and Jason Weatherall, who all have a wealth of experience in disability supports and the NDIS.

We also have Specialist Support Coordinators (SSC), who offer a higher level of support coordination for people with more complex needs. Specialist Support Coordinators are Samir Bhandari, Maria Tsikmis and Sharon Minjire, who are all social workers. SSC often coordinates a multi-disciplinary approach to providing supports in addition to providing advocacy and wellbeing support to clients and their nominees.

In addition to SSC, Minda’s Social Workers offer services such as grief and loss counselling, mediation, change of life transition including moving from school into work, exploring housing options, group therapies, and empowering families through group work. Social Work is funded within the Improved Daily Living budget as a Capacity Building support to assist participants to achieve their goals. If you identify clients who would benefit from Social Work supports, please suggest to the client or their nominee to speak with Disability Choices who can discuss this further with the client.

NDIS participants and their families who are interested in support coordination should contact Jodie direct via email or call her on mobile 0418 875 530.
