Minda Celebrates 120 Years
The year 2018 marks Minda’s 120th year and we looking forward to celebrating this milestone with you!
On Saturday afternoon, 17 September 1898 Lady Victoria Buxton (who was the wife of the Governor of South Australia at the time) formally declared Minda open. Located at the time on Fullarton Road Fullarton, Lady Victoria opened Minda with then President Mr JH Symon, QC (later known as Sir Josiah Symon).
“It is an amazing milestone and it gives us the opportunity to acknowledge and recognise the many supporters of Minda, from our staff, to volunteers, family, friends, corporate supporters, sponsors and the wider South Australian community,” CEO Cathy Miller says.
One of the ways Minda is celebrating its 120th is by introducing you to our community through 120 Faces of Minda.
“It is so clear to me that the great successes of Minda rests on the work of its capable and dedicated staff, its Board, its volunteers and of course the Minda community and throughout our 120th year we will share just some of the familiar faces at Minda.”
“There is much for us to look forward to at Minda, and I do hope you can continue to support us in our 120th year and beyond.”
Each week we look forward to posting a number of familiar faces around Minda to celebrate. Just keep an eye on our facebook!
