Celebrating our volunteers

Minda's fantastic volunteers were honoured at our Volunteer Appreciation Morning Tea held during National Volunteer Week.

About 60 people gathered at Minda Brighton for morning tea served by students from Cabra Dominican College, and live entertainment from Sacred Heart College. Everyone enjoyed the opportunity to meet our new Chief Executive Officer Dr Clare Allen.

This year's National Volunteer Week theme was 'Making a world of difference', highlighting the significant impact volunteers make around the world.

Clare said this financial year, volunteers contributed around 6,700 hours to Minda.

"On behalf of everyone at Minda, thank you to our volunteers for the enormous contribution they make to the lives of others," Clare said.

Minda's volunteer specialist Louise Fletcher introduced guest speaker Lianne, who talked about her experience of being supported by volunteers.

Lianne is a very talented artist who participates in MyPATH programs and works part-time at Minda's Laundry and Linen Services at Lonsdale. She talked about how volunteers help her and shared a few of the things she likes about volunteers.
